Submit to Safety.Science
Safety.Science accepts submissions through its Open Journal Systems (OJS) submission platform.
Authors are invited to submit original and relevant contributions related to safety, risk, resilience, systems thinking, responsible design, safety governance, methods, tools, case reflections, and interdisciplinary safety research.

Submissions should be clear, relevant, properly referenced, and connected to safety research, safety practice, governance, design, systems thinking, or related interdisciplinary fields.

- industry and infrastructure professionals
- safety regions and emergency services
- policy makers and regulators
- consultants and trainers
- interdisciplinary practitioners
- students and early-career contributors
You do not need to belong to a specific discipline or institution. What matters is clarity, relevance, and contribution to safety understanding.
Before you submit
Please prepare:
- the manuscript file;
- title and abstract;
- keywords;
- author names, affiliations, and email addresses;
- references;
- figures, tables, data, or supplementary files where applicable;
- conflict of interest, funding, ethics, data availability, or permission statements where applicable.
By submitting, authors confirm that the manuscript is original, properly referenced, and does not violate confidentiality, copyright, or third-party rights.

What happens next
After submission through OJS:
- the editorial team checks whether the manuscript fits the aims and scope of Safety.Science;
- the submission may be sent for editorial review, peer review, revision, or open review depending on the article type;
- authors receive editorial communication through the OJS platform;
- revisions, reviewer responses, and decisions are tracked in the OJS workflow.
The process is designed to be constructive, transparent, and proportionate — especially for interdisciplinary and practice-based work.
Open access and fees
Safety.Science is an open-access journal published by NEDION Press.
No Article Processing Charges (APCs) are currently required.
Unless otherwise stated, published articles are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
