Knowledge Briefs help make established and developing knowledge easier to understand, cite, teach and apply without replacing the deeper scientific, technical or scholarly sources on which that knowledge may depend.
Depending on the concept, a Knowledge Brief may bring together:
- an authoritative or working definition;
- the origin and development of the concept;
- distinctions from related terminology;
- relationships to relevant theories, frameworks and standards;
- supporting scientific and professional literature;
- implications for research, education and practice;
