Archiving and Preservation
Safety.Science is committed to maintaining the accessibility, integrity and continuity of its scholarly record.
Current preservation and continuity measures
The journal currently uses the following measures:
- published journal articles receive Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs);
- the formal scholarly publication record is maintained through the Safety.Science OJS environment;
- publication files and metadata are maintained within the NEDION publishing infrastructure;
- website and content backups form part of the publisher’s operational continuity arrangements;
- authors may also deposit appropriate versions in institutional or recognised repositories where copyright, licence and journal policies permit.
A DOI provides persistent identification and resolution to the registered publication location. A DOI is not, by itself, a preservation mechanism.
Independent archival preservation
Safety.Science does not currently claim active preservation through an independent archival network unless such participation has been technically activated and verified.
Additional preservation routes may be introduced as the NEDION Press preservation infrastructure develops. Any future activation of an external archival service or preservation network should be reflected transparently on this page.
Platform continuity
If publishing infrastructure is migrated, NEDION Press aims to preserve stable publication identifiers and URLs where possible, or provide appropriate redirects to authoritative replacement records.
Corrections, expressions of concern and retractions should remain connected with the scholarly record according to the applicable publishing policies.
Responsibility
NEDION Press is the publishing function and imprint of Stichting NEDION and provides the shared publishing infrastructure and preservation framework.
The Safety.Science journal remains responsible for the integrity of its scholarly record, while editorial decisions remain independent.
