Safety.Science is a developing, independent journal focused on advancing safety as an integrative socio-technical discipline.
Rather than scaling rapidly, the journal is intentionally growing through careful collaboration with scholars who value conceptual clarity, intellectual integrity, and reflective engagement with safety practice.
Ways to contribute
At this stage, contributions are welcomed primarily in the following forms:
• Invited Reviewer
Scholars may be invited to review submissions that align with their expertise.
Review requests are selective and limited in frequency, respecting academic time constraints.
• Advisory or Editorial Contribution
Experienced researchers may contribute in an advisory capacity, offering:
- intellectual guidance on journal direction,
- feedback on conceptual coherence,
- or occasional support in shaping emerging themes.
These roles are intentionally light-touch, especially during the journal’s early phase.
• Author
Safety.Science welcomes:
- research articles,
- conceptual and theoretical papers,
- reflective case analyses,
- and integrative design perspectives.
The journal particularly encourages work that:
- addresses early signals and pre-failure dynamics,
- engages with uncertainty and complexity,
- or bridges human, technical, and contextual dimensions of safety.
Developmental phase transparency
Safety.Science is explicit about its current stage:
- a small but coherent editorial structure,
- selective publication volume,
- and evolving review practices appropriate to a foundational phase.
We believe credibility is built through clarity of intent, not through premature expansion.
Expressing interest
If you are interested in contributing to Safety.Science in any of the roles above, you are welcome to make contact.
Expressions of interest are treated as exploratory conversations, not commitments.
