A journal-first scientific platform
Safety.Science is a peer-reviewed journal and developing scientific knowledge platform dedicated to advancing the science of safety.
The journal remains the primary public identity. The wider Safety.Science platform gradually connects research, education, projects, resources, methods and public engagement in the science of safety.
Our contribution to the pathway
Safety.Science contributes by:
- developing evidence and theory about safety conditions and performance;

Journal and platform are related but distinct
The public Safety.Science platform explains and connects the discipline, projects, resources and public-interest scientific activity.
The Safety.Science journal maintains the formal scholarly record through OJS, including submissions, peer review, editorial decisions, article records, metadata and Versions of Record.
NEDION Press is the publishing function and imprint of Stichting NEDION. It provides the shared publishing framework, infrastructure and production services. Editorial decisions remain the responsibility of the journal’s editors and reviewers.
Editorial independence
Safety to Freedom™, NEDION Foundation programmes, existing theories and other NEDION initiatives do not determine publication outcomes.
Safety.Science may publish work that supports such initiatives, develops them, compares them with alternatives, identifies limitations, criticises assumptions or reaches different conclusions.
Scholarly decisions are made according to journal scope, evidence, review, ethics and conflict-of-interest safeguards.
