The journal combines academic insight with practical experience to support integrated, evidence-based safety across disciplines and sectors.

The Editor-in-Chief acts in an independent academic capacity. Institutional affiliation is provided for identification only and does not imply institutional control or endorsement.


Advisory Editors

The Advisory Editors contribute expertise across different domains of safety, supporting the journal’s interdisciplinary scope.

They provide input on topics, directions, and submissions, while final editorial decisions remain with the Editor-in-Chief.

Advisory roles are voluntary and based on subject-matter expertise.

Editorial approach and responsibilities

  • Final editorial decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief;
  • Advisory Editors provide guidance but do not determine acceptance decisions;
  • Manuscripts from editorial members are handled independently;
  • Peer-review status is transparently indicated for each publication;
  • The journal distinguishes clearly between peer-reviewed articles and editorials.

Current development

The editorial team is being gradually expanded as the journal develops.

Safety.Science is actively engaging with researchers, practitioners, and professionals across domains to build a diverse and credible editorial network.
