Responsibilities of Authors

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Treat manuscripts as confidential documents.
  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely reviews.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their review.
  • Refrain from using unpublished material for personal advantage.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Make fair and unbiased decisions based solely on the scientific quality, relevance, and clarity of the work.
  • Maintain confidentiality of submissions and reviewer identities (in line with the chosen review model).
  • Manage conflicts of interest appropriately.
  • Take steps to address suspected or proven misconduct, including corrections or retractions where needed.

Plagiarism and Text Similarity

Safety.Science takes plagiarism and inappropriate text reuse seriously. Research submissions are screened prior to publication. Allegations of plagiarism are handled in accordance with recognised publication ethics principles. Confirmed cases may result in rejection, correction, or retraction.

Corrections and Retractions

Safety.Science publishes corrections, clarifications, or retractions when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record. All such notices are clearly linked to the original publication and remain part of the permanent public record.

Handling Misconduct

Allegations of misconduct (e.g. plagiarism, data fabrication, unethical research) will be investigated according to recognised guidelines. Where necessary, the journal may:

  • Request clarifications or corrections from authors.
  • Publish corrigenda, expressions of concern, or retractions.
  • Inform relevant institutions or funding bodies.
